I understand that having water feature is a no-no in the bedroom.

However, as I have sinus problem, my doctor recommended that I put a bowl of hot water with mentol crystals in there to ease breathing when I'm sleeping.

Is it OK to have this bowl of water in the bedroom then??

Hi Blessme,

One of the factor of not putting water is because it cause moisture in the room, thus it gets humid and makes room moist, and things might spoil and turn mouldy.

In your case, not putting a bowl water will cause more harm to your health than putting a bowl of water with regards to feng shui.

Please do according to what the doctor tells you. Not everything about feng shui is a must to follow. You have to know your priorities.

Hi BlessMe,

For a bowl of water in the bedroom will NOT be a problem.

Normally having water feature is not really advisable but there are situation where it is alright.

Think along this line... if a bowl of water is going to affect ur "fengshui" then everyone will not be able to place their glass of drinking water in the bedroom.

To actually activate the area, the feature must be of a considerable size.

Hope this clear ur doubts.

My room used to be very dry. Every morning when i get up from bed, I will have very bad sore throat. At night my throat is so dry that i get jolt out of bed.

So i place a small humidifier in the room. Now, I sleep better and the air isn't so dry anymore. In fact after placing the humidifier, i have a better sleep at night and in the day time i feel more energised and alert (due to a good night rest).
