What's the difference between Pi Xiu and Pi Xie?

hi Gabriel,

Congratulation that u use the correct Romanised Chinese words (unlike others who use Pi Yau; etc).

Infact, the two "Pis" mean the same. Pi Xiu is the name commonly used for the said auspicious lion+dog -like figurine which is believed able to ward off 'sha' (bad things) in fengshui. In Mandarin Pi means avoid and Xie means evils. Thus, at times the PXiu is also termed PXie in view of its funtionality.
